America is Losing Its Moral Compass
It is sad to see the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave losing its moral compass to utter depravity. A nation built on godly principles, using Judeo-Christian values as its moral compass and guiding force, our forefathers would be sickened by the outcome of modern immorality.
While my intention is not to be judgmental, for I have my own sins to repent of, the cultural decay and secular progressive ideology is becoming too blatant to ignore.
Despite its obvious promotion on a daily basis, the fact is America's decay started back in the 1960s, when the Sexual Revolution destroyed the boundaries of traditional marriage and family values, started promoting the normalization of contraception and sex outside of marriage, and even went so far as to legalize the murder of innocent, unborn children by abortion.
Today, abortion is celebrated by liberal politicians, so called comedians, and Hollywood's elite, as if it is some right of passage for sexually promiscuous mutineers!
Recently, at the much publicized White House Correspondents' Dinner, keynote entertainer (if you want to call her that), comedian Michelle Wolf not only unfairly berated Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, she attempted to go after Vice President Mike Pence for his pro-life opposition to abortion, saying, "He thinks abortion is murder which, first of all, don't knock it 'til you try it — and when you do try it, really knock it. You know, you've got to get that baby out of there."
Nothing short of repulsive and reprehensible, Wolf tried to play it off as simply a joke. But, murder is not a joke, and would be equally as insulting if someone cracked a joke about hanging a black man from a noose or a Jew burning to death in a furnace.
While not surprising that many of her fellow comedians came to her defense, it reminds us how very immoral and out of touch Hollywood and New York entertainers really are with the majority of the country.
I'm not even talking politics, here. Politics aside, morality is far beyond the limitations of political rhetoric. It strikes to the core of the spiritual condition and reveals the true heart of one's character.
While all of us are sinners and fall short of the glory of God, those with moral values and respect for the foundations of our country, recognize their downfalls, accept responsibility for their shortcomings, and use their failures as a lesson not to be repeated.
Rather than glorify their sinful acts and put them on display for public consumption as some form of celebratory achievement, most people try to change their behavior or course of action so they don't make the same mistakes, again.
The Bible says, "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." (2 Timothy 3:1-7)
This is evidence of where we are in the biblical timeline. We are living in the last days, people! But, we ought to not lose hope.
"Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:12-17)
You are a soldier, an Ambassador for Christ, and despite the challenges we face on a daily basis, I encourage you to remain strong in the faith. Our enemy is very real and we see him on display, gloating about his own immorality like its a medal of honor. But, in fact, the victory is not his, and the battle outcome is already pre-determined. Walk in faith, warrior. Your courage and tenacity, bravery and commitment, do not go unnoticed. God, our Commander in Chief sees you, and is fighting alongside you in this battle. You are not alone.
Together, we may not restore morality in our nation. But, together, we can prevent or war against the spread of moral decay by being the voice of God, voting for righteous acts and against unrighteous policies, standing up for those less fortunate, and refusing to back down for what is right.
Then, and only then, can we endure what time we have here on earth.
